James John Barrecchia, Jr. passed away Monday morning, May 8th, 2023 following a long and fruitful life. He was 87. Born and raised in Paterson, NJ he was a resident of Passaic County, Berlin Germany, and Ocala Florida before settling in Wanaque, NJ 10 years ago. Mr. Barrecchia served in the United States Navy from 1954 - 1956. A graduate of Seton Hall and Columbia Universities, Mr. Barrecchia spent several years teaching History at Saddle Brook High School before serving a distinguished 25-year tenure at William Paterson University, retiring in 1991. James enjoyed traveling with his wife predeceased Erika and had fond memories of his time at sea while in the Navy. Mr. Barrecchia is survived by four loving daughters Petra, Grace, Michelle and Kimble and three loving sons Jim, Bill, and Paul. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, ^) north Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034.
