Obituary of Hasumati K. Shastri

Hasumati K. Shastri passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her Clifton, NJ home surrounded by her caring family. She was 72.

Born in Sureli Panchmahals, Gujarat, India, Mrs. Shastri had lived in Baroda, India and subsequently immigrated to the United States in 2001, settling in Clifton.

She had been a primary school principal in Baroda, India for many years preceding her retirement.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Kishorkumar P. Shastri; three beloved children, Akshay Shastri of Baroda, India, Vaishali Mehta of Clifton, and Avani Mehta of Clifton; a brother, Krishnakant Pandya of California; a sister, Ansuya Joshi of Baroda, India; and six cherished grandchildren, Anupa, Dhruv, Vidhi, Tanay, Shivam, and Soham.

Funeral Services will be Monday, June 5, 2023, 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Rosedale Crematory Chapel, Montclair. Cremation will follow.
