Obituary of Guido G. Labagnara

Guido G. Labagnara passed away Monday morning, June 26, 2023 at his Lake Hiawatha, NJ home. He was 86.

Born and raised in Benevento, Italy, Mr. Labagnara immigrated to Venezuela at the age of 17. He later came to the United States with his family in 1986 settling in Whippany, NJ. He had been a resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany since 2003.

Mr. Labagnara worked as a refrigerator mechanic with the Hoffman LaRoche Company in Totowa for many years before his retirement in 2002.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Gelsomina (nee Napolitano) Labagnara; his son-in-law, Brendan Gethins Jr., and several siblings.

Guido is survived by his five beloved children, Filomena Labagnara of Venezuela, Gianna Marotta of Venezuela, Maria Gethins of Lake Hiawatha, Flavio Labagnara of Cedar Grove, and Domenico (Jose) Labagnara and his wife, Rosa of Lake Hopatcong; four grandsons, Kevin Labagnara, Brendan Gethins III, Nico Labagnara and Ty Labagnara; and many great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, June 28, 2-4 & 7-9pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 29, 10:00am at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Parsippany. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover.
