Obituary of Lawrence H. Kalish

With tremendous sadness the family of Lawrence H. Kalish announces that their beloved husband and father has passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2023. Larry was surrounded by his family and listening to his favorite music as he took his final breath. He was 72.

Born in Montclair, NJ, he was a longtime resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills before moving to Lake Hopatcong 45 years ago.

Larry earned his Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University in 1973, and his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School in 1977.

Mr. Kalish was a distinguished member of the New Jersey Bar for 46 years. He was the founder and proprietor of The Kalish Law Group in Lake Hiawatha, where he was still active.

He was a longtime member of the Lake Hopatcong Jewish Community Center and was a Mason Brother of the Colonial Prospect Masonic Lodge # 24 of Chester, holding many distinctions over his decades of membership.

Larry's wife of over 50 years, Hope, has been his steadfast partner, travel companion, and best friend. He is also survived by his three beloved sons, Brett Kalish and his wife, Meredith of Boonton, NJ, Ari Kalish and his wife, Erica of Miami, FL, and Jared Kalish and his wife, Alyssa of Rockaway Township who have been by his side not only this week, but through all of life's milestones; a dear brother, David Kalish and his wife, Terri of Commack, NY; and his eight doting grandchildren, Matthew, Chase, Justin, Emma, Spencer, Andy, Harrison, and Elliott who love and adore him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha beginning at 12:00pm on Friday, July 14, 2023. Funeral Services will commence at 1:00pm under the direction of Rabbi Richard Kirsh. Interment will immediately follow at Pine Brook Jewish Cemetery, Montville, NJ.
