Obituary of Edward F. Sciuk

Edward F. Sciuk, 93, a longtime resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-

Troy Hills, died Sunday evening, July 9, 2023 at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany.

 

Born in Newark, NJ, the youngest of 8 siblings (who all predeceased him), Edward also

lived in Irvington, NJ, Fort Knox, KY, and Clifton, NJ.

 

He earned his bachelor's degree from Newark College of Engineering in 1951 and first worked at Curtiss-Wright

Aeronautical. He was in U.S. Army from 1955–1957, and then spent most of his 30-year

engineering career at Picatinny Arsenal.

 

Edward was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany.

He enjoyed playing bridge, going to casinos, and was an avid Mets and Giants fan. He

volunteered for years at Meals on Wheels after he retired.

 

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan M. Sciuk (nee Doyle) in 2012. He is

survived by his daughter Victoria Sciuk of Whippany, NJ; son Kevin Sciuk and his wife

Danita of New Kent, VA; daughter Karen Principe and her husband John of Cary, NC;

daughter Christine Agius and her husband Frank of Apex, NC; and daughter Elaine

Wagnon and her husband Bill of Huber Heights, OH. He is the loving grandfather to

Melissa, Matthew, Nicole, Joshua and Julia, and great-grandfather to Gavin.

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at St. Peter

the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery,

East Hanover. Visitation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the

American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org).
