Obituary of Robert "Bob" Krulan
Bob was born on October 6th, 1937 to Sam Krulan and Dorothy Krulan Reid. He grew up in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Paterson Vo-tech High School in 1956. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country for 4 years. He was proud to have worked on The Intrepid in the Mediterranean as part of his service. In 1960, he met the love of his life, Arlene, and they were married in 1961. They lived in Paterson until 1971 when they bought their home in Lake Hiawatha.
After the Navy, Bob work for Curtis Wright and obtained his real estate license. In 1971, though, he went to work for Kamp Fire Equipment. He began as a technician going out on the road, and later became a salesman for the company. In 1981, he bought the company and realized his dream of owning his own business.
Bob loved his wife and his family more than anything. He and Arlene traveled the world together, cruising to every continent. He brought back souvenirs from around the world and enjoyed seeing so many different places. He also loved taking the whole family to Disney World every other year.
Bob was an excellent bowler, bowling 3 times a week before he was married. His eventual high score was a 299 which he framed and kept. He also loved reading books on his Kindle and going out to eat.
Bob attended church regularly and believed in Christ as his Savior. At various times, he served as a trustee, the assistant treasurer, and was a member of the governing board. We know that he is in Heaven now and free from the pains of this world.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene, his four children and their spouses, Laurie and Bob Kiefer, Timothy and Christine Krulan, Janice and Steven Opsal, and Daniel and Heather Krulan, 9 grandchildren (Zak, Ben, Kate, Jessica, Matthew, Christopher, Dana, Jack, and Layla), and one great-grandchild (Kendall).
