Obituary of Henrietta Agatha Bennett

Henrietta Agatha Bennett (nee Stobbs) fondly known as Alma, passed away at age 101 on October 25, 2023, at her home in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

She was born in Trelawny, Jamaica on March 20th, 1922. She was the 4th child of Hezekiah & Iris Stobbs.

After high school Alma taught mathematics for a short time before she went on to Midwifery school. She earned her certificate in Midwifery and got her training in the hospitals. She was employed by the health department, and assigned to a District in Portland, Eastern Jamaica. As a Midwife delivering many babies, it gave her pleasure knowing she had accomplished her career goals. While working in Portland she met Terrence V Bennett who became her doting husband for over 61 years.

Alma was a devoted mother of six children, a grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She lived a long life and a well spent life, so God called her home knowing her work was done. Her kindness and empathy for those in need made her special to all who knew her.

She leaves behind 6 children, Garnett, Myrna, Clarice, Karl, Vinette, and Bernadine: one sister, Ethel, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Henrietta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terrence V. Bennett on September 19, 2010.

Relatives and friends are invitged to visit with the family on Thursday, November 9, 2023, 11:30am – 12:30pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, November 9, 2023, 1:00pm at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
