David Zudkevitch passed away Sunday evening, November 12, 2023 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ, following a brief illness. He was 93. Born and raised in Hadera, Israel, Mr. Zudkevitch immigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Brooklyn, NY. He had been a resident of Greenwich Village, NY and several municipalities in New Jersey before coming to Denville, NJ in 1971. Mr. Zudkevitch earned his Bachelors Degree at the Technion in Haifa, Israel. He later earned his PhD from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. In 1998, he was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He was the owner of several patents and a co-writer of the Zudkevitch-Joffe paper referred to in chemical engineering textbooks. Mr. Zudkevitch was employed with Exxon and Allied Chemical before becoming an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York City, retiring 15 years ago. He is survived by his loving son, Daniel L. Zudkevitch and his wife, Alyssa of Wayne, NJ; a dear sister, Nava Narkis of Haifa, Israel; and two beloved grandchildren, Ilena and Jacob Zudkevitch. David was preceded in death by a brother, Mordehai Dorin; and a sister, Esther Gil. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday morning, November 18, 2023, 11:30am to 12:15pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:15pm in the funeral home chapel. As per David's request, his remains will be returned to Israel at a future date.
