I was a Freshman at Don Bosco Prep when Gene was already a hero on the basketball team. Everybody admired him so much! It was a tough school. The Brothers who were our teachers and advisors were as tough as nails. Gene and the members of his class were role models for all of us younger students. Those were the days, when our players blessed themselves before taking a foul shot! Don Bosco Prep changed my life and I attribute much of that to Gene and his classmates.
