Obituary of Daniel M. Grant

Daniel "Danny" M. Grant, of East Hanover, NJ, was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully Thursday morning, January 11, 2024, at the age of 41, after a courageous health battle, surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends who will continue to honor his legacy.

Born in Morristown, NJ, Danny lived most of his life in Dover, NJ, before moving to East Hanover with his wife 12 years ago.

He graduated from Montclair State University in 2005, with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He later went on to earn his certified public accountant (CPA) license.

Dan was a partner at the accounting firm of Meisel, Tutor and Lewis in Roseland, NJ, where he had worked over 12 years.

A motorcycle enthusiast, Danny loved riding his Harley and going out for scenic rides with his wife, cousin and friends. He was also an avid golfer and loved traveling the world.

Preceded in death by his father, Leon J. Grant in 2023; Danny is survived by his loving wife of almost 12 years, Erica (nee Gizzo) Grant; his beloved mother, Anita (nee Guillermo) Grant of Dover, NJ; his brother, David Grant and his wife, Sandy of Rockaway, NJ; his niece & nephew, Amalia and Jacob Grant; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Christine Gizzo of Toms River, NJ; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Danielle Gizzo Duca and Michael Duca of Hoboken, NJ.

Family and friends are invited to attend an adult-only visitation on Monday, January 15, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Dover, NJ.

A private entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ. Details to be provided by invitation from the family.

Due to mausoleum restrictions, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts in Danny's memory be made in his name to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation and/or Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
