Dennis Clemens Quardt, 82, of Venice Florida, formerly of New Jersey died suddenly of cardiac arrest on Tuesday January 16 in Tampa , while returning from a four-day cruise on the Norwegian Jade. Dennis was born in Paterson, NJ on June 16, 1941 to parents Adriana (neé Traas) and Clemens Quardt. Dennis grew up in the FairLawn, NJ area and attended college at William Paterson University, where he majored in mathematics and was active in basketball and computer science. While an undergraduate, at WPU, he met the love of his life (and fellow math major) Mary Ann Ginexi. After graduation, Dennis and Mary Ann married, and settled in NJ, where they raised their two children, Suzanne and Darren. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Isabella. Over the years, Dennis developed several computer software international patents, governing facial recognition software, for which he received several awards. While at RCA Laboratories, Dennis also was awarded recognition for developing several Outstanding Achievement Awards for the design and development of the Super Cam system, which led to the eight-fold reduction in the time spent in producing mechanical parts. After retirement, Dennis and his wife retired to Venice, Florida, where they enjoyed hosting frequent Movie Nights, in the Movie Theater which Dennis constructed when he was still able-bodied. Dennis will be sadly and deeply missed by his adoring wife, and family. Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, 8:30am to 10:30am at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha, NJ.
