Obituary of Ricardo Garcia

Ricardo Garcia passed away suddenly March 20, 2024 at his place of employment in North Brunswick, NJ. He was 49 years young.

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, he was a resident of Rockaway Township, NJ since 2007.

Mr. Garcia served in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in Japan and Australia before his honorable discharge.

He was a longtime member and lineman with the IBEW 164 of Paramus, NJ. He was among the men that specialized in disaster assistance during tornados, hurricane and flooding across the United States. Ricardo served in numerous disasters, including Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina.

A motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of "HOG," the Harley Owner's Group.

Ricardo is survived by his loving wife Yessica C. (nee Alcivar) Garcia. They shared 24 wonderful years together and were married for the last 18. He will also be sorely missed by his five beloved daughters, Kassandra Hendrix and her husband, Ethan, and their two children, Terrence and Ronan of Texas; and Victoria Garcia, Sophia Garcia, Viviana Garcia and Bella Rose Garcia all at home; his father, Rafael Garcia of Rockaway Township, NJ; his mother, Felicita (nee Vega) Garcia of North Carolina; a brother, Rafael A. Garcia and his wife, Katheryn of Mountainside, NJ; a sister, Rosanna Rivera and her husband, Louis of North Carolina; and his cherished dog "Nacho."

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 1, 2024, 5:00pm to 9:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 10am at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Basilica, Newark, NJ. Military Honors will follow the Mass. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial gifts to either Toys for Tots (http://secure.toysfortots.org ) or the Lupus Foundation (http://lupus.org ).
