Obituary of Vicenta Angela Cabezas

Vicenta Angela Cabezas (nee Fiorentino), fondly known by all as "Enza," passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 29, 2024 at her Lake Hiawatha, NJ home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73.

Born on December 31, 1950 in Mendoza, Argentina to Italian immigrant parents, Vicente and Giovanna Fiorentino, she had lived in Argentina and Chile before immigrating to the United States in 1981, settling first in Philadelphia, PA, then in NJ (Paterson and Fairfield) and ultimately in Parsippany, NJ, where she had been a resident of Lake Hiawatha since 1995.

Mrs. Cabezas earned her Bachelor's Degree in medical technology from the Universidad de Chile and worked at the Hospital de Puerto Montt for 5 years. After moving to the United States and learning English, she subsequently earned another bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Thomas Edison State College, a Master's Degree and a PhD from Kennedy Western University, both in Health Administration.

She worked at the Board of Health in Paterson, NJ for 17 years, before retiring as Chief Medical Technologist in 2009.

A devout Roman Catholic, she was a member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Parish in Parsippany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Giovanna Fiorentino; and her brother, Vicente Fiorentino.

Enza is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Arturo Cabezas; four beloved children, Maurice Cabezas and his wife, Bonnie of Hillsborough, NJ, Frank Cabezas and his wife, Karin of Fredon, NJ, Carolina Sylvin and her husband, Jared of Whippany, NJ, and Marianne Cleary and her husband, Jeff of Chatham, NJ; six dear siblings, Salvatore Fiorentino, Jose Fiorentino, Angela Fiorentino, Aurora Mannino, Graciela Araya, and Daniel Fiorentino; and her eight cherished grandchildren, Sofia, Victoria, Lennon, Dylan, Ryan, Lily, Henry, and Alexandra.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, April 2, 2-4 & 7-9pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday evening, 8:30pm during visitation. Cremation will be private.
