Obituary of Verlynn Jean Hiles

Verlynn Jean Hiles, affectionately known to all as "Lynn" passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ, surrounded by her family, following a sudden illness. She was 72.

Born in Kearny, NJ, Lynn had lived in Belleville, Edison, and Parsippany before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills 40 years ago.

Ms. Hiles worked as a night auditor with Hyatt House Hotel in Whippany for the last two years. Previously, she worked as a purchasing manager for Gardner Industries of East Hanover (now Fairfield), NJ for 25 years.

She was longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a lector and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also an Associate of the Society of the Sisters of the Church and a member of the Divine Will.

Preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Margaret (nee Fraser) Hiles; she is survived by her loving son, Frank K. Mulvaney; her two dear aunts, Gloria McGinty and Jean Reitmeyer; and a host of friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, June 7, 4:00pmm to 8:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10:00am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany, NJ. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ.
