Obituary of Angelina Rose Sturm

Angelina R. Sturm (nee Luglio) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at RWJ Hospital in Somerset, NJ. She was 97.

Born Feb 25, 1927 in Lyndhurst, NJ she was a longtime resident before moving to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany, NJ in 1964. She subsequently moved to Brandywine in Greenbrook in 2010 and then Foothill Acres in Hillsborough, NJ in 2013.

Angelina was strong-willed and independent. She had worked at RCA in Harrison, Midlantic Bank in Bloomfield and also Sweda International.

She loved to cook and read extensively. She was a former member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, the Lake Hiawatha Seniors and the Red Hat Society, had been a volunteer with the Deborah Hospital, and attended gatherings of Parents Without Partners. She also hosted groups traveling to Atlantic City casinos.

She was the loving wife of 30 years to Frank Sturm who passed in 1977; the beloved mother of Christian Sturm (wife Donna) and Linda Pokryska (husband Glen) dear grandmother of Ronald and Frank Pokryska; fond sister of Carmella Kirchner, Amelia Ardizzone, Anna DelRevere, Joseph Luglio, John Luglio, Vincent Luglio, Americus Rosa, Anthony Rosa, Frank Luglio, Bob Luglio, Joseph Rosa; sister-in-law of Lester Kirchner, Fred Ardizzone, Thomas DelRevere, MaryLou Luglio, Cathy Luglio, Minnie Rosa, Margaret Luglio, Stella Rosa, Henry Sturm, Lesley Sturm, Dorothy Howard, Donald Howard, Stella Sturm, Albert Sturm; and aunt of Laura, Elaine, Rosalie, MaryAnn, Joanne, Diane, Joseph, Anthony, Ronald, Richard, George, Sandy, Richard, Douglas, Caroline, Albert, Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, June 26, 9:30am to 11:30am at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12:00pm at Restland Memorial Park Chapel, East Hanover. Entombment will follow at Restland Mausoleum.
