Obituary of Raymond L. Mariash

Raymond L. Mariash passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY. He was 93.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he was a resident of the Pine Brook section of Montville Township, NJ for 54 years before moving to Briarcliff Manor, NY three years ago.

Mr. Mariash earned his Bachelors Degree in advertising from New York University.

He had worked as an advertising salesman with the New York Times, New York, NY for many years before his retirement.

Mr. Mariash was a longtime member of the Pine Brook Jewish Center, Montville, NJ and had served on the Montville Township Board of Education and Montville Township Library Board. He was president of the Library Board at the time that the current Montville Library was constructed.

Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Ann (Eliasberg) Mariash in December of 2023 and his sister, Sondra Rubin. Survivors include his two beloved daughters, Julie Noble and her husband, Charles of White Plains, NY, and Michelle Mariash and her husband, Peter Alusitz of Yorktown, NY; and his two cherished grandchildren, William Alusitz and Sylvie Alusitz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services on Tuesday, July 9, 2:00pm at the Pine Brook Jewish Cemetery, Windsor Drive, Pine Brook, NJ.
