Obituary of Megan Gooch Darzanoff

Megan Gooch Darzanoff passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2024 surrounded by family at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer of the appendix. She was 46 years young.

Born in Pequannock, NJ, she was raised in Vernon, NJ and had lived in Franklin, NJ before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ twenty years ago.

Mrs. Gooch Darzanoff earned her Bachelors Degree in psychology from Rowan University in 2000. She subsequently earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University in 2004.

A licensed clinical social worker, she was employed as a mental health clinician with the Northern State Prison in Newark, NJ for the last 18 years. Previously, she worked as a mental health clinician and supervising clinician with New Bridge Services.

Preceded in death by her father, Edward R. Gooch in 2012; Megan is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Hayri Darzanoff; two cherished daughters, Savannah Julia Darzanoff and Emily Ann Darzanoff both at home; her beloved mother, Lois C. Brandt of Franklin, NJ; and her dear brother, Steven R. Gooch of Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by by a host of very special friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, 2:00-6:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha. A celebration of Megan's life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, 3:00pm in the funeral home. (The family will begin gathering at 2:00pm). Private cremation will follow on Monday at the Locust Hill Crematory, Dover.

Following the funeral service on Sunday, all are invited to attend a repast at Ravello's, 138 Eagel Rock Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936 at 4:30pm.
