David K. Yen passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 20, 2024 at his Montville. NJ home surrounded by his loving family. He was 96.

Born in Beijing, China, he immigrated to the United States in 1946, to attend Carleton College in Northfield,MN. He graduated with a BS in Economics before moving to Minneapolis, MN to begin his career with the First National Bank of Minneapolis. He subsequently moved to New York, NY where he worked at the Chase Manhattan Bank in International Banking before his retirement and in retirement went back to work at the HR Block Co. eventually managing several branch offices in the Edison, NJ. Area. . There he met Margaret Lam, married and moved Montville Township in 2009.

David was very active in the Montville community as a member of the Republican Club of Montville, the Lions Club International, William Paterson University Center for Chinese Art and in 2018 was named Citizen of the Year by the Montville Township Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Lam; two children, Edward J. Yen of Stuart, FL and Margaret Bailey and her husband, Patrick of Scarsdale, NY; his two siblings, Richard Yen of San Francisco, CA and Barbara Yuan of Washington DC ; four grandchildren, Aaron Yen (Yue Chen) of Seattle, Lauren Yen Leahy (Matthew Leahy) of Singapore, Peter Yen (Anni) of San Antonio and Megan O'Grady (James) of Bronxville NY and five great-grandchildren, Molly Leahy, Jack Leahy, Axel Yen, Cornelius O'Grady and Maeve O'Grady. He is also survived by his wife Margaret's children, Andy Ko and Cindy Ho; and grandchildren Ryan and Kyle Ho. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hu.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, September 7, 2024, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha. Funeral services will be held during the visitation. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to by check to::
