Barbara Montello (nee Peplowski, nee Scheeler) 79 of Port Jervis, NY formerly of Las Vegas, NV and Fair Lawn, NJ passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.


Born in Jersey City, NJ to parents Alexander and Caroline Peplowski (nee Jasienski), she graduated from Glen Rock High School and went to Ritanella Beautician School in Paterson. She was also a successful entrepreneur starting and running her business Montello’s Envelopes for 20 plus years.


Barbara is predeceased by her husband Kenneth J. Montello – November 2022. They were married for a wonderful 46 years.

She is survived by her children Stacy Wojtecki and her husband Joseph, Spencer Edward Scheeler III, Jennifer Bradatsch, Kenneth J. Montello Jr and his wife Ming Chi. Cherished grandmother of Joseph L. Wojtecki, Alexander Wojtecki and his wife Hannah, Christian Wojtecki, Angelina Montello and Hunter Bradatsch. Great grandmother of Koda and Aurora Wojtecki and Joseph A. and Ellie Wojtecki. Her dear sisters Joan Johnson and Carole Dellanno. Loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Former spouse Spencer E. Scheeler Jr. and his wife Maureen.

Barbara loved visiting the casinos and taking cruises every now and then with many family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.


A memorial service will be held on October 28, 2024 at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ from 10 am – 12 pm.
