Obituary of C. Carol Wilkes

Catherine Carol Wilkes (nee Connolly) passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 19, 2024 at Mount Arlington Senior Living Center in Mount Arlington, NJ following an extended illness. She was 85.

Carol, as she was known by all, was born to the late John and Kathleen (nee O’Brien) Connolly in Scranton PA. She moved to Caldwell, NJ with her family at the age of 4 where she later met Walter “Joe” Wilkes. They married and remained in Caldwell, NJ before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in 1962.   

She was a devoted mother and her home was a place of warmth and love. Carol also worked as a school aide for many years for the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District.  She loved the students and made lasting friendships.

Carol was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany where she enjoyed being a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Martha Ministry and volunteered with the parish Food Pantry. 

Always with a smile, Carol was always there to help and volunteer her time and talents.  Her generous and loving spirt will never leave us. 

Predeceased by her husband Walter “Joe” Wilkes,  and her brothers John and Paul Connolly; Carol leaves joyful memories to her beloved son, Joseph Wilkes, her loving daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Anthony Sannazzaro; her adored granddaughter Samantha Sannazzaro and her husband, Kevin Pasini; her great-grandson Martin Pasini; her dear sister, Anne Monahan and many more dear relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4-8 pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2024,  10:00 am St. Peter the Apostle Church, 179 Baldiwn Rd, Parsippany.  Interment to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
