Obituary of Anthony J. Polito

Anthony J,. Polito, affectionately known as "Tony," passed away Sunday morning, December 1, 2024 at Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, NJ following a brief illness.  He was 82. 

 

Mr. Polito was born and raised in Newark, NJ. It was in Newark that he met his late wife, the former Rosemarie Delli Santi. They were married on September 15, 1963, and subsequently moved to Parsippany-Troy Hills where they raised their family. They shared 51 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. He moved to Flanders in 2018.

 

Tony graduated from Barringer High School in Newark, NJ and subsequently, Montclair State College, Montclair, NJ. 

 

A financial planner, he worked with American Express Investments in Mountain Lakes for 25 years before his retirement in 2008.
 

Tony was an avid piano player, loved a good cigar and the company of his beloved dog, Bruno. 

 

Preceded in death by his cherished wife Rosemarie Polito; Tony is survived by his seven loving children, Chris Poulos of Orlando, FL, Maria Lukoskie (Stephen) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Linda Polito of Whippany, NJ, Roseann MacLachlan (Angus) of Flanders, NJ, Suzanne Grillo (Bob Forte) of Budd Lake, NJ, Anthony Polito (Vanessa Colon) of Rockaway Township, NJ and Angela Londergan (Cavan) of Parsippany, NJ; a brother, Frank Polito (the late Felicia) of Livingston, NJ; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 2:00-4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 5, 2024, 10:00am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany, NJ. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ.
