Loretta A. Braden (nee Stiehler) passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, December 3, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family and care staff at The Oaks Care Center in Denville, NJ. She was 89.

Born and raised in Passaic, NJ, Mrs. Braden married her late husband, Richard Braden in 1957. The couple settled in Montville Township, NJ where they raised a family of eight children. They subsequently lived in North Carolina, Manahawkin, NJ, and Lake Hiawatha, NJ before Richard's passing in 2011, when Loretta returned to Montville.

Mrs. Braden was a 1953 graduate of Pope Pius XII Diocesan High School in Passaic. Thereafter she pursued a career as a registered nurse, having in 1956 completed a course of study at Saint Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Passaic. She was employed at the adjoining St. Mary's Hospital at various times through the following three decades until her eventual retirement.

A member of St. Pius X R.C. Church in Montville, Mrs. Braden enjoyed many friendships made through half a decade in the community and had treasured her time as a volunteer at the "Old and New Shop" at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Stafford Township, NJ during the years she lived at the shore.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her sister, Annette Stiehler, her brother, Raymond Stiehler; she is survived by her eight loving children, Richard Braden (Michelle) of Lewes, DE, Timothy Braden (Linda) of Montville, NJ, Laura Zavala (Oscar) of Hopatcong, NJ, Christopher Braden (Kerry) of Montville, NJ, Patrick Braden (Robin) of Jupiter, FL, Michael Braden of Kinnelon, NJ, Thomas Braden (Amy) of Kinnelon, NJ and Kevin Braden (Stacey) of Tarpon Springs, FL; her sister, Susan Cichowski of Quakertown, PA; nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, December 9, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 , 10:00am at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Montville, NJ. Private cremation will follow.
