Obituary of Indira Chauhan

Indira Chauhan (nee Bhatia) passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ following a brief illness. She was 82.

Born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, she came to the United States in 1983, settling in Hoboken, NJ. She later came to Parsippany-Troy Hills in 1990.

Mrs. Chauhan earned her Bachelors Degree in physics and chemistry from the Gujarat University of India in 1963.

While in India, Indira was the doting mother of three children as she also assisted her husband with the operation of their family business, Kwality Poultry Feed and Farm in Anand. Once in the United States, she worked with Tiffany & Co. of Parsippany before her retirement in 2006.

A devout Christian, she was a member of the Abundant Life Worship Center.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Isudas Chauhan; her three cherished children, Lenny Chauhan and his wife, Reena of Morris Plains, NJ, Varsha Christian and her husband, Dennis of Parsippany, NJ, and Bankim "Ben" Chauhan and his wife, Janet of Parsippany, NJ; a brother, Anant Bhatia of Virginia, and her six beloved grandchildren, Sharon, Alison, Joshua, Mark, John, and Megan. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lemuel Bhatia and Rasin Bhatia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Sunday, January 19, 2025 3:00pm to 6:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, January 20, 2024, 10:00am in the funeral home by Pastor Marc Siegel of the Abundant Life Worship Center. Interment will follow at Hanover Cemetery, East Hanover.
