Obituary of Henry M. Federico

Please share a memory of Henry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Henry Michael Federico, lovingly known as Hank, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 after a brief illness. He was 82 years old.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. A prayer service and military honors will begin at 6:00 pm. Donations in his memory may be made to the good work of the Fins for Freedom, an organization that shares the joy and passion of sport fishing with our nation’s veterans and active-duty military personnel.

Born in Newark, Henry was one of two sons to bless the Federico family. After completing his schooling, Hank proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, fate intervened at a carhop, where he met the love of his life, Patricia. Never one to give up, he persisted until she agreed to a date, and the rest was history. They married in August of 1965 and settled in Parsippany.

Early in his career, Hank worked tirelessly as a long-haul trucker with North American Van Lines, navigating the open road, often with Pat at his side. In his later years he enjoyed his time with the Township of Parsippany, as the Parks maintenance supervisor. He made lasting friendships and enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed spending winters as a part-time ski instructor. He and Pat loved to hit the slopes. At home, he was a devoted fan of college basketball, the New York Yankees, and NASCAR.

Hank found his greatest peace and happiness on the water. He spent countless hours at Sandy Hook and in Atlantic Highlands boating and fishing with Pat. We take comfort in knowing they are together again.

Predeceased by his wife Patricia (nee Coleman) of 57 years and his brother Donald Federico; he leaves his nieces Elizabeth Hynes and Sarah Daggs and their husbands Peter Hynes and Thomas Daggs; his great nieces Catherine (Kate) Hynes and Molly Daggs; great nephew Jack Daggs; sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann Egan; dear friends Marie (Suzy) Herman and Bill Herdman; and many more caring friends and neighbors.
