Just seeing this now. Sorry to see this. I am also happy in a way as I see he lived to be 86 years old as he told me and other students once that he was dying showing us some bruises on his arms back in 1990. Mr. Chill was the GREATEST TEACHER AT Middlesex County College that I ever had!!! He was So Good at what he did! After a full day of work and then having to go to night classes at MCC was tough as you (me) would already be tired after a long day at work. Leonard Chill and his teaching skills suddenly woke you up, the student (me) would be wide awake as he taught History with such passion! Professor Chill.....YOU were THE BEST!!! GOD SPEED!
Love and Respect!

He was my teacher in junior year and he is one of the reasons I became a history teacher. I just retired this past January and included him in my speech about all the people in my life who influenced my career. God bless you Mr. Chill. May you rest in eternal peace. Thank you for igniting my passion to teach high school history.

Mr. Chill was one of my teachers at East Side High School. He was truly gifted on how he was able to motivate his students. Always enthusiastic, happy and had a great sense of humor. Even after all these years (24+) I still have fond memories of Mr. Chill's history class. My deepest condolences to the Chill Family.

My heartfelt condolences to the Chill Family. I had Mr. Chill as my psychology professor in Middlesex County College, that was the best class I ever had in the college. I enjoyed his class so much I wanted to take it over and over again. Sadly for my 4 years at East Side High School I didn't get him as my History Teacher but I always heard good things about him from my former classmates. I'll never forget him and know that he will be with his family from above.
Godspeed Mr. Chill.

Besides my father, Lenny Chill was one of the very first people who taught me what it means to be a good man.
Lenny Chill showed me that honor and decency, manners and kindness, were infused with joy.
Lenny was a mensch. He radiated joy and love.
I have been lucky enough to know his family for over 30 years. And they knew his joy and his love. I am so grateful that they shared it with me.
I am a better person for it.
My deepest condolences and fullest love, thoughts, and prayers to Debbie, Wendy, and Barbara.
Let us celebrate a wonderful, joyous man, who will be deeply missed. -Aaron J. Mandel

I was a young girl in your Intro to psychology class in 1986. You encouraged me and made me believe in myself. You made a difference. I looked forward to coming to your class and only wished my other teachers had your enthusiasm and uniqueness. My most heartfelt condolences to your family. You truly were a candle in this dark world. Rest easy Mr. Chill and thank you.

Dear Barbara and family,
We are filled with sadness at the loss of Lenny, a wonderful man who loved his family and worked and played hard when he could.
He was a wonderful educator for many years and respected by his fellow teachers and most importantly by his students.
We will be with you in spirit on Sunday as you do what must be done. He will always be with you in your hearts with wonderful memories of all the good times you had. When we visited NJ after moving to Florida we did see you several times and I believe we met once when you visited Florida. Lenny will be remembered by so many that is quite a tribute.
With love to you and the family,
Sonnie and Herb
