Dear Josephine and Ralph,
I'm sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a beautiful person, always smiling and welcoming, so religious and faithful. I know she is welcomed in heaven by so many family and friends. I will keep her, and your family in my prayers. May she rest peacefully in our Lord's presence.

Q: What was Vincenza really good at?
A: My cousin Vincenza was good at many things. Besides the obvious that she was an awesome cook. Everyone knew that a family gathering at the Minerva home meant you were going to eat well!
But aside from that she raised 2 wonderful children, my cousins Josephine and Ralph. She raised them to be great people like she and her husband Andrea were. And although she lost Andrea way too early, Vincenza never waivered from that goal.
She was great at serving the Lord. She instilled that strong faith in her children and everyone she touched
My cousin Marc said it best when he said “She was barely 4 and half feet tall but she was a GIANT of human being “
We will miss you sweet Cousin

Despite her stature, my aunt Vincenza had a huge presence in our family. I will always remember her animated way of telling stories, her laugh, her cheerfulness, her faith, her loving generosity. I have fond memories of visiting her house in Mt. Vernon with my brother and cousins. Even now, the smell of freshly brewed espresso takes me back to those days. Zia, I know you will be welcomed into your heavenly home with the same warmth, love, (and banquet!) that you so often shared with your friends and family here on earth. I will miss you so much! God bless you.

I have the blessed honor to be named after Zia Vincenza. Whenever I am asked about my unique name, I love sharing that I am named after my dad's sister and I always tease that I definitely inherited her height. :-) She loved all of us nieces and nephews immensely! I can still hear her melodic greeting and farewell that always included the words "belle a Zia." She spoiled us all with her love and affection and was most pleased when we enjoyed her delicious meals, even when we argued we were full and couldn't eat another bite. I have the fondest memories of going to her house in Mount Vernon after school on half day Friday's, always to be welcomed with the best lunches followed by some of my favorite treats of yodels and funny bones. She was a loving and affectionate Zia, extremely devout to her faith and will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. I love you Zia Vincenza. Please watch over us all from heaven.

I attended Adoration with Vincenza on Saturday mornings. She was always there unless she wasn't feeling well. I was told she walked to the chapel many days even early hours in the morning.
She was a beautiful lady with her radiant smile asking how I was feeling before I had a chance to ask her. May she rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. Love you,

I was an altar boy at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon N.Y. I always served the Italian Mass on Sundays and my Aunt Vicenza was always there. You could count on her the to lead the mass responses and prayers with a commanding voice. She was also louder than the choir when singing praises to the Lord. I did not need to look up, I knew is was her.
