Vincenza Minerva (nee Della Mura) passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2023 at her Parsippany home surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years young.

Born and raised in Maiori, Salerno, Italy, Mrs. Minerva immigrated to the United States in 1956, settling in Bronx, NY. She subsequently lived in Mt. Vernon, NY before moving to Parsippany-Troy Hills in 2001.

Vincenza had worked as an assembler and tester with Reliable Sprinkler Co. of Mt. Vernon, NY for 13 years retiring in 1988. Previously, she had worked with the Joffee Candy Company of Mt. Vernon, NY. As a young woman, she had worked as a housekeeper for a family in Maiori, Italy.

A lifelong Roman Catholic, Vincenza had a special devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and Our Blessed Mother. While living in Mt. Vernon, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church where she served as a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Eucharistic Minister and Choir Member. She was a member of the Third Order of Franciscan Minor in New York. Upon coming to Parsippany, she became active in the Roman Catholic Parish Community of St. Peter the Apostle. There, Vincenza was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Adoration Ministry. She was honored as a recipient of the Vivere Christus Award by the Diocese of Paterson in 2018 for her dedication to St. Peter the Apostle Parish.

Vincenza was preceded in death by her loving husband Andrea Minerva in 1986; her parents Gennaro and Assunta (nee Masoli) Della Mura, and her siblings, Antonio, Pietro, Carmine, Suora Bibiana, Antonio and Elena Della Mura. She is survived by her two beloved children, Josephine Minerva and Ralph Minerva, both of Parsippany; her dear siblings, Pietro Della Mura of Shrub Oak, NY, Suora Chiara Della Mura of Rome, Italy, and Giovanna Coelho of Duluth, GA; and her cherished granddaughter, Victoria Minerva and her fiancée, Christopher Thajudeen.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 21, 2023, 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha (973-335-4700). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 22, 11:00am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany. Interment will follow at The Beechwoods Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on the parish web site http://saintpetertheapostle.org

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial gifts to either Catholic Relief Services, The Franciscan Mission Associates, or St. Peter the Apostle Church Food Pantry in Vincenza's memory.
