Sr. Joan was my teacher when I was a student at the College of St Elizabeth. I was a special ed major.She had very high standards for her future teachers and I greatly benefited understand her auspices . I had become a Franciscan Sister after several years of teaching.We kept in touch over the years with cards, phone calls, and texts. We also had a few opportunities to visit. Sr. Joan told me how she knew she wanted to be a Sister of Charity from the time she was a little girl. She certainly dedicated her life of service to the field of education for so many years! Today I went to her wake, funeral Mass, and burial. It was wonderful to see so many people in attendance! May she now rest in peace in God's Eternal Light and Love. I was truly blessed to have Sr. Joan as my teacher and friend.

My life was blessed by knowing Sister Joan! She took me under her wing at The College of Saint Elizabeth when I entered the Masters program and was instrumental in assisting me to succeed...and enjoy the process to obtain my degree and principal certification. She nominated me for a leadership award of which I treasure to this day. We kept in touch over the years with an annual Christmas card greeting. I am certain she is celebrating in Heaven! May she rest in peace and continue to watch over us here on earth. God bless you always, Sister Joan!
