Obituary of Gloria Marie Buongiorno

Gloria Marie Buongiorno (nee Renner) passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, January 3, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 91.

Born in Englewood, NJ, Mrs. Buongiorno was raised in Saddle Brook, NJ and lived in Little Falls and Parsippany, NJ before moving to Montville, NJ in 1977.

A homemaker, Gloria was a woman who loved life and was devoted to her family.

She was a longtime member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Montville, and the Montville Seniors. An avid golfer, she also loved music and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Buongiorno in 2007. Survivors include her four children, Eileen DeYoung Gilbert and her husband, Scott of Blairstown, NJ, Roy DeYoung and his wife, Laura of Hatillo, PR, Christopher DeYoung and his wife, Jacqueline of Ridgewood, NJ, and John DeYoung and his wife, Christina of Santa Monica, CA; two step-children, Ernest A. Buongiorno and his wife, Irene of Agora Hills, CA, and Denise Buongiorno and her husband, Ditmar of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and her companion Robert Pizza of Montville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 6, 12:00pm at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Montville. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for Memorial Gifts to the American Cancer Society. http://donate.cancer.org
