Constantinos "Gus" Amentas, of Parsippany, NJ, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, January 30th, 2024. He was surrounded by his family in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was 82. Son of Maria and Dimitrios Amentas, he was born March 5th, 1941, in Lagada, an island of Chios Greece. Constantinos was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Rosalie Amentas, his loving son and daughters, Alex Amentas, Angela Angiolillo, Maria Perna, her husband Dan, Eleni Filippone, her husband Gerald, Nicole Tomlinson her husband Seth, Christina Graynor her husband Mike. He has 10 cherished grandchildren, Annette, Johnny, Tristan, Alycia, Bobby, Danny, Cole, Luke, Shane, Jake; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Conor. Constantinos proudly served in the merchant marines enabling him to travel all over the world. He learned to speak seven languages, fostering his love of history and geography. He eventually emigrated to the United States, having held many jobs from short order cook to bridge painter. He met his wife Rosalie, in Irvington NJ, and they married in 1970. Together they started their own painting company, Olympic Jersey Painting, earning him the title, "Gus the painter". While raising five daughters, he built a successful business for 54 years, providing for his family with pride. Constantinos was the rock for his family, a very generous man, a trickster, a great storyteller, and a keen observer. He truly lived life to the fullest and shared his wisdom with all who came into his life. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, February 17th, 1-5pm at S.J.
